Context

From December 14, 2022 to March 12, 2023, young citizens from the western part of the Czech Republic (Karlovy Vary, Pilsen, South Bohemia and Prague) and Bavaria were therefore invited to express their priorities for a stronger and more sustainable Europe, as well as their ideas about the role that cross-border projects can play in strengthening Europe.
This project is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Family Affairs, Labor and Social Affairs through the Bavarian Youth Federation. It is part of the Bavarian Youth Action Plan.

Two-phase consultation

Phase 1
A regional consultation
During the first phase, we asked Bavarian and Czech participants to answer the following question in their respective language:
Czech-Bavarian cooperation: How can we build a strong and sustainable Europe together?
At the end of this phase, we obtained a total of 19 ideas from both countries, including 16 popular ideas and 3 controversial ideas.
Phase 2
A transnational consultation
In the second phase, we presented the Bavarian proposals to the Czech participants and vice versa. The aim was to initiate a dialogue and analyze how the participants would react to each other's ideas. From this, we derived the analysis and divided the ideas from this consultation into three categories:

- Common popular ideas = Popular ideas that were confirmed by the votes of participants from the other country
- Common controversial ideas = Controversial ideas that were confirmed by the votes of participants from the other country
- Discussed ideas = Popular or controversial ideas from one country with certain aspects that are not shared by the other country

Ideas often consist of several dozen proposals, each of which received more than 100 votes.
