Full-time position, fixed term contract for initially one year 

Make.org is looking for a civic tech enthusiast and junior project manager who can help us revolutionise participatory democracy and democracy and to support our organisation in  Germany.

Who are we?

At a time when trust in elected representatives and institutions of democracy are dwindling and our society is becoming more and more divided, Make.org was founded in 2016 with the aim of to (re)inspire citizens for democracy (again). We are convinced that we can accompany them in all their diversity and give them the right tools, so that they can be heard. Only in this way can we give our democracies a new impetus and strengthen the desire for political participation. After a successful beginning in France 7 years ago and more than 100 diverse online citizen participation projects we have started to grow our organisation internationally with offices in both Brussels and Berlin.

We are looking for reinforcement for our growing German team. Our adventure in Germany is off to a good start with 8 projects already successfully completed. Now we would like to build on this great experience and all actors - citizens, public administration, foundations, NGOs, companies and the media - for a positive transformation of society. You want to shape important social debates, actively contribute to the further development of our democracy and to participate in projects from A to Z implement? What can you expect?

You are co-responsible for the conceptual design and implementation of digital citizen participation projects in coworking with our Senior Project Leader. Alongside the team, you help grow our network of public administration, foundations, NGOs, companies and media and contribute to the development of our organisation in Germany.


Project management of our (digital) citizen participation projects
  • Supporting the team in creating concepts and presentations for project partners 
  • Preparation of appointments with existing clients and partners  
  • Collaboration in the participation projects and preparation, implementation and follow-up of regular project meetings (internal and external)
  • Collaborate with the other (international) Make.org teams (Product, Design, Acquisition, Data & Analysis) to support the project team 
  • Supporting the project lead in controlling the projects, for example time expenditure and costing
  • if part of the project: event planning and conception



Communication and social media for participation projects and marketing
  • Creating content for our social media channels and supporting the management of the platforms in Germany (currently Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) 
  • Editing our website texts and other information materials using tools like Webflow or Figma
  • Communicating with citizens for all their questions and other event/workshop participants
  • Writing and sending mailings to our network and community 


Acquisition
  • Supporting the Acquisition team in the creation of ad campaigns by using for example the Meta Business manager 
  • Preparation of the content for the campaigns: wording, call for actions, visuals together with the Design team
  • Alignment with the client regarding target groups and objectives for the campaigns and transferring internally to the acquisition team



Assist with business development and research / analysis
  • Research and monitor relevant policy and action areas to identify potential new client projects and partnerships in the public sector, private sector, foundations and associations
  • Support in the creation of new offers for potential project partners and customers  
  • Collaboration in the creation and revision of sales presentations
  • Monitoring and maintaining the contact database (software-based) and following up on business activities
  • Preparation of concepts and presentations for potential project partners and for tenders

Your profile: What do you bring to the table?

  • First experiences (2 to 3 years exclusive internships) in project management preferably with a variety of stakeholders and areas of competence
  • Pleasure working in a setting with complex tasks as project management in an entrepreneurial company requires a various skillset
  • Experience in working with clients, preferably in a tech or consulting environment 
  • Pleasure in creative thinking and desire to work in a tech company
  • Strong interest in social contexts and good understanding of the German and European political system 
  • You speak German (native level) and English (C1) and have experience in multicultural teams and/or in an international environment

Your working environment: What do we offer?

  • A meaningful task that makes an active contribution to democracy
  • A full-time position at least for one year (80% part-time possible)
  • Access to a network of of high-ranking democracy experts and institutional decision-makers and personalities
  • 30 days holiday + Make.org recreation days (number depends on year)
  • Flexible working hours and home office with 2 days of coworking per week in our office in Berlin-Neukölln
  • Committed colleagues in an open-minded organisation with flat hierarchies
  • A trip to Paris at least twice a year to international team on site work
