From September 23 to November 7, the people of North Rhine-Westphalia are invited to share their ideas for "reinventing Europe".

After an initial pan-European consultation in 2019 (WeEuropeans) and more recently, in spring 2021, a consultation with young French people on their "priorities for the Europe of tomorrow" (Paroles aux Jeunes), Make.org is launching its first consultation in Germany on 23 September, inviting people of North Rhine-Westphalia to share their vision of the future of Europe.

On May 9 this year, the European institutions launched an unprecedented exercise of citizen participation, the Conference on the Future of Europe (CoFoE), which is currently taking place in all the Member States of the European Union.

With this new consultation, in line with the CoFoE, the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia is giving its citizens the opportunity to help shape the Europe of tomorrow. How do they hope to reinvent Europe in practical terms? What do citizens expect from European politics? Are European democracy, climate change and the environment, education, culture and sport their priorities?

As the future builders and actors of tomorrow's Europe, young people in particular are invited to take part in this debate by sharing their visions and solutions. Every voice is important in helping to shape the future of the EU.

At the end of this consultation, all participants will be invited to discuss with experts in a bigger Citizens' Dialogue, which will take place online on 29 November 2021.

The results of the consultation and the citizens' dialogue in North Rhine-Westphalia will be integrated into the digital platform of the Conference on the Future of Europe, and will contribute to the guidelines and conclusions drawn up within this framework by spring 2022.
