After its first ever introduction at the 2024 EuroPCom Conference, Make.org and the European Committee of the Regions joined forces again to provide the Panoramic AI platform to participants of Europe's largest gathering of public communication professionals. This cutting-edge tool allows the broader public to explore the content of the EuroPCom 2025 conference, which took place in July this year.

Building on a successful cooperation

Panoramic was first presented on the European level during the 2024 EuroPCom Conference. Make.org’s civic-tech AI-driven platform made the conference’s content more accessible. It empowered a broader audience to explore the extensive collection of secured institutional data, including time-stamped video recordings and various documents.

We are delighted that we could build on our productive collaboration with the European Committee of the Regions and support the 2025 EuroPCom conference with a tailor-made Panoramic AI platform once again.

Our commitment to enhance the event’s accessibility to a broader public comes to a greater importance given this year’s topic: Beyond words, a story of trust.

Indeed, the overarching topic of the conference was trust in public communication. At Make.org, we believe that our platform can contribute to meaningful outreach towards the crucial stakeholders, regional and local representatives, and ultimately European citizens.

The conference covered a wide range of topics centered around building trust and resilience in various contexts that were discussed through several workshops, training, and practical exercises.

Discussions included the role of cities and regions as trust builders, reskilling for trust in innovation and addressing disinformation, innovative approaches for public institutions and the power of storytelling or social media in building trust. The importance of safeguarding space for quality journalism in the age of AI was emphasised. Moreover, the use of AI in trust-based advocacy campaigns was explored.

The discussions were framed by the need to find the trust in the communities, through trusted technologies and with a trust in the institutions. There is an apparent need from the institutional side to use technologies, for instance artificial-intelligence-powered, to listen better to the citizens.

Being organised by the European Committee of the Regions in close cooperation with the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the European Investment Bank, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the EuroPCom conference brings communication experts from the large majority of the European institutions and beyond, and further strengthens the inter-institutional cooperation.

By leveraging the Panoramic platform, EuroPCom 2025 is another example setting a great standard for how technology can support democratic processes and discussions at the European level. Panoramic equally proves its adaptability through evolving innovation, in order to meet the demands of different contexts, projects, and audiences.

From local, regional and national debates to the European stage at EuroPCom 2025, Panoramic platform confirms its value as a trusted solution for meaningful communication.

Looking ahead

Applying innovative technologies in the European context must be responsible and audacious. Platforms such as Panoramic AI, that exist in the civic tech universe, present an opportunity to enhance public communication and citizen participation in Europe. The future of civic tech lies in its ability to adapt, empower, build trust, and connect institutions with the citizens they serve.

We are looking forward to new collaborations with the European Committee of the Regions, or other EU institutions, which would allow us to further participate in building a more democratic, transparent and accessible European Union.

On the first ever multilingual Panoramic platform, the European Committee of the Regions and Make.org provided easy access to the 23 May meeting of the Committee’s ECON Commission.
